Antique Maps

Coram James values antique maps, atlases and sea charts for insurance, probate, divorce, sale and litigation, from a single county map to complete atlases and collections.

Our Specialists

Our maps specialist spent 24 years at Sotheby’s in the Books and Manuscripts department and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Each map is assessed for maker, edition, colouring, condition and margins, against current market evidence.

  • Atlases by makers such as Ortelius, Mercator, Blaeu and Speed
  • English county maps by Saxton, Speed and their successors
